Ordering
How far in advance should I place my order?
Custom cakes and decorated cookies require at least two weeks’ notice. Larger orders, detailed designs, weddings, and holiday dates may require additional time.
Do you accept rush orders?
Rush orders may be accepted depending on availability, current workload, and the complexity of the request. Orders placed after the two-week mark may require a rush fee.
Is my date reserved when I submit an inquiry?
No. Submitting an inquiry does not reserve your date. Your date is only secured once your order is accepted and any required payment or retainer has been received.
Cakes & Cookies
What is the minimum order for cakes?
Custom cake orders have a minimum of $75.
What is the minimum order for custom cookies?
Custom cookies require a minimum order of two dozen simple cookies.
Can you match my theme?
Yes. Designs are created around your theme, colors, inspiration, and celebration style. Inspiration photos are welcome, but exact replication of another artist’s work is not guaranteed.
Payment & Retainers
Do you require a retainer?
Retainers are required for orders over $350. Orders over $350 require a 50% retainer to secure the order date.
When is final payment due?
Final payment is due the week of your order and must be paid before pickup, delivery, or setup. Orders are not released until payment is complete.
Pickup & Delivery
Do you offer delivery?
Yes. Delivery is available for an additional fee.
- Delivery: Within 15 miles of Beachwood, NJ 08722 $25 flat fee
- Additional distance: Additional fees may apply Outside 15 miles: $25 base + $2 per mile + tolls/parking costs
- Setup: $50 setup fee when applicable
What happens if I am late for pickup?
Pickup orders must be picked up within the scheduled 15-minute pickup window.
Can someone else pick up my order?
Yes. Please let us know ahead of time who will be picking up the order. Once the order leaves our possession, responsibility transfers to the customer or designated pickup person.
Refunds, Cancellations & Exchanges
Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
No. Because all products are custom-made and perishable, refunds and exchanges are not offered once work has begun.
Can I get my deposit back if I cancel?
If cancellation occurs before any work has begun and no materials have been purchased, a deposit may be refunded. If work has begun, the full deposit may not be refunded.
Allergy Information
Do you take allergy requests?
No. Marcia’s Micro-Bakery does not accept allergy-sensitive orders or allergy requests.
Are allergens present in your kitchen?
Yes. Products are made in a kitchen where wheat, eggs, nuts, dairy, and other common allergens are present. Cross-contact is possible.
