Returns, Refunds and Exchanges

Custom Products

All products sold by Marcia’s Micro-Bakery are custom-made to order. Due to the perishable and customized nature of our products, refunds and exchanges are generally not available once work has begun on an order.


Order Cancellations

Customers may cancel an order before production begins.

If no work has started and no materials have been purchased specifically for the order, any deposit paid may be refunded.

If work has already begun, a full refund will not be issued.

Examples of work that may result in all or part of the deposit being retained include:

  • Design and consultation work
  • Ordering specialty supplies
  • Purchasing custom decorations
  • Creating custom cookie cutters
  • Printing edible images
  • Preparing fondant decorations
  • Beginning baking or production

The amount retained will be based on expenses incurred and work completed at the time of cancellation.


Deposits

Deposits are intended to reserve production space on our calendar and cover preparation costs associated with custom orders.

Depending on the stage of production, deposits may be partially refundable, non-refundable, or applied toward costs already incurred.


Pickup Orders

Customers are encouraged to inspect their order at pickup.

Once an order has been accepted and leaves our possession, responsibility transfers to the customer.

We cannot provide refunds or replacements for damage resulting from transportation, improper handling, storage conditions, accidents, or environmental factors after pickup.


Delivery Orders

If delivery is provided, responsibility transfers once the order has been successfully delivered to the designated recipient or location.


Scheduled Pickup Times

All orders are assigned a scheduled pickup time.

Customers are expected to arrive within their designated 15-minute pickup window.

Because custom orders are prepared around a production schedule, late arrivals disrupt other pickups, deliveries, and business operations.

Late Pickup Fee

If you arrive more than 15 minutes after your scheduled pickup time, a $25 late pickup fee will be due before your order is released.

Extended Delays

If you anticipate being late, please contact us as soon as possible. While we will do our best to accommodate schedule changes, accommodations are not guaranteed.

Repeated delays or failure to communicate may affect future order availability.

Missed Pickups

Orders not picked up on the scheduled date and time may be considered abandoned. Refunds will not be issued for abandoned orders.

Product Quality Concerns

If there is a concern regarding the quality of a product, customers must contact us within 24 hours of pickup or delivery.

Photographs may be requested to evaluate the concern.


Exchanges

Because all products are custom-made and perishable, exchanges are not offered.
