Wondering about round vs. square? Round cakes are easier to work with, which is why they're the go-to shape for most celebrations. Square cakes take a bit more finesse — getting those edges perfectly straight and corners crisp requires extra time and skill. The good news? A square cake gives you one or two more servings than a round cake of the same size.
